Mrs. Baggao bags Pretty Preggy 2012 title

In line with its goal to promote safe motherhood, pregnancy and good maternal health, the Provincial Health Office launched the first- ever Pretty Preggy as one of the activities held during the 429th Aggao Nac Cagayan celebration.  The competition was held at Paseo Reale Lobby on June 25, 2012.

A total of 14 pregnant women from the different municipalities in the province competed to win the title.  Mrs. Aysa C. Centeno, from Baggao who is five-months pregnant with her first child joined the competition and bagged the title as the first-ever Pretty Preggy of the province.  Aside from the title, she was also awarded minor awards such as Best in Ramp and Best in Summer/Maternity Dress.

Centeno who is an employee of the Local Government Unit of Baggao displayed a healthy disposition and projection which made her the winner in the said competition.

The different candidates impressed the audience and the judges as well. Among their talents were belly dancing, magic arts, painting and singing.

Board Member Maria Olivia B. Pascual who is the Chairperson on Health said that pregnant mothers at the early stage of pregnancy must undergo prenatal check up to guarantee a healthy and safe pregnancy.

The Board of Judges comprises of the following: Department of Health Regional Director Rio L. Magpantay, AGBIAG Partylist Congressional Spouse Michelle Antonio, BFAR Regional Director Jovita P. Ayson, Dr. Teresita Reyes and Mrs. Herita Macarubbo, of POPCOM.

Mrs. Baggao won a prize of P10,000 cash plus a bouquet and buntis kits.  Mrs. Tuao, Aika A. Salva, was the first runner up; Mrs. Aparri, Geneive O. Centeno,  second runner up; Mrs. Penablanca, Sheryl Q. Iglesias, third runner up; Mrs. Tuguegarao City, Genalyn Banac, fourth runner up.  They were given a cash prize of P8,000, P6,000,P4,000, P2,000, respectively. Bouquets and buntis kits were also given to them.

With the success of the said event, Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Marcos Mallillin said they will make this as a regular undertaking during Aggao celebrations.
