The Provincial Government of Cagayan staged the first ever Ginoong Cagayan pageant as one of the highlights of this year’s celebration of Aggao. The show was held at the University of Cagayan Valley (UCV) Greyhounds Gymnasium in the evening of June 25, 2012.
The first ever Ginoong Cagayan was Gian Karlo Tabian, 23 years old and a nurse by profession. He represented Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) where he is currently employed there.
The affair had drawn an audience of 2,000 from different towns of the province. The 23 gentlemen paraded in their ethnic attire, barong tagalong and swimming trunks.
According to Criselda I. Antonio, Executive Assistant IV of the Office of the Governor, the staging of the first ever Ginoong Cagayan 2012 serves as a venue for young men to develop and enhance their talents.
There were 23 contenders, in the pageant only three won the titles Ginoong Cagayan 2012, Ginoong Gobyerno Ti Umili; Ginoong Turismo.
Meanwhile, Ginoong Cagayan Police Provincial Office (CPPO), John Paul Baculi garnered the “Pili na Media” award. He was unanimously chosen by the members of the local press people during the Press Conference held at Paseo Reale last June 23, 2012. Aside from the minor awards, numerous corporate awards has also been given to candidates.
