Leaders from different municipalities and barangays in the province, several members of the public and private sector and Cagayanos from different walks of life converged at the Cagayan Sports Complex in Tuguegarao City and showed strong support at the kick-off ceremony of the Gobyerno Ti Umili (GTU) caravan 2013.

GTU epitomizes Governor Alvaro T. Antonio’s vision of people-centered development and governance toward progressive and empowered Cagayanos.  It aims to mold the Cagayano into an engaged and discerning citizen, one who is firmly grounded in his community and collective identity.

The kick-off program was also graced by Vice Governor Leonides “Odi” N. Fausto, Gov. Antonio’s staunch ally in the GTU’s vision.  Fausto said that Cagayan has changed tremendously. He further sought for the people’s support to continue cooperating and uniting in order to achieve the goals of the administration.  Fausto also emphasized his continuous support for Governor Antonio.

Meanwhile, in his message, Governor Antonio stressed the importance of oneness and solidarity of Cagayanos in making the province a better place to live in.  He also thanked all the people present for the support in the objectives of the GTU and asked Cagayanos to continuously aim high.

On the other hand, a surprise program was given to Governor Antonio in celebration of his 61st birthday.  The affair was filled with warm greetings from family, friends, allies, and supporters.  To make the surprise celebration even more memorable, a special song number was performed by the daughters of the Governor, Cristina Antonio and Criselda Antonio.
