P46M funding for infra projects in Cagayan approved

About Forty Six Million Nineteen Thousand Seventy Five Pesos (P46,019,075.00) was approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cagayan to implement various infrastructure projects of the province for CY 2013-2014.

The approved funding was granted to implement priority projects that include partial completion of New Provincial Jail, (ground floor) located at Carig Norte, Tuguegarao City; installation of Rubberized Track Oval Phase 2, Cagayan Sports Complex; completion of Provincial Library, Tuguegarao City; backfilling of Softball/Baseball Field, Cagayan Sports complex; construction of Stadium, Phase VIII (Demolition of Existing Structures for the Expansion Cagayan Sports Complex; rehabilitation of barangay roads of the Municipality of Iguig; maintenance of provincial roads(provincewide); completion of Multi-Purpose Center in Piat; construction of Multi-purpose Center in Alcala, installation of artessian wells in Tuao and purchase of various equipment of the province.

Meanwhile, about  P1.95 million was also approved for various infrastructure projects for the municipality of Tuao including the concreting of barangay roads, installation of RC pipes, construction of drainage, and rip-rapping of barangay roads and improvement of Multi-purpose Center Phase IV.

On the other hand,  Resolution No. 11, s. 2013 of the Provincial Development Council Executive Committee (PDC-EXCOM) approved the amount of Four Million Three Hundred Seventy Two Thousand (P4,372,000.00) sourced out from the unobligated appropriation for Donations under the Office of the Governor for priority items of expenditures for medical supplies of various district hospitals amounting to P1.12 million; traveling expenses; training expenses; capital outlay; communication equipment and other property; plant and equipment for the Sangguniang Panlalawigan; and Vice Governor’s Office funding amounting to P1.4 million.

A report from the PDC-EXCOM showed that the amount of P403.69 million was appropriated for infrastructure projects of the province for CY 2012 sourced from the 20% component of the IRA Utilization and the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) CY 2012 under Supplemental Budget No. 4, CY 2012.  About P153.75 million was implemented last year while P249.93 million is still on-going this year.

According to Ricardo C. Tubangui, Assistant Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator and PDC-EXCOM Acting Secretary, the Executive Committee passed three Resolutions Nos. 09,10,11 series of 2013 reprogramming the amount of P46 million for infrastructure projects  identified as priorities for of this year.
